Support to those affected by the pandemic
25th June 2021
Dear Students,
The coronavirus continues to affect us. The second wave has affected many more families than in the first wave. We all know of friends and families that may have suffered from this pandemic.
In some cases, the virus has hit home. There are some families that have had to be hospitalised for treatment, and in some cases families have lost their dear ones. Some of my own family members and colleagues were hospitalised during both waves, and sadly, some succumbed to the disease.
We have to do our best to be safe from the disease. We need to wear masks and vaccinate as soon as the vaccines become available.
We are reaching out to you to see whether we can be of some assistance. For those students whose parents or siblings have been hospitalised with heavy expenses due to the pandemic, or for those students who may have lost a parent or sibling, we have created an application process under the 'MyAccount' portal.
I do not know how we can mitigate the financial or personal loss that you may have suffered, but we will try to help as best as we can.
